Raise the Baseline Projects & Partners

Where Purpose Meets Partnership

Raise the Baseline began with a bold idea and a powerful partnership, launching our pilot programs in collaboration with the School of St Jude in Tanzania. What started as a single project has evolved into a growing ecosystem of impact: leadership development, financial literacy, mentorship, and creative entrepreneurship programs that are changing lives from the inside out.

From students writing their first book, to graduates mentoring the next wave of changemakers, and new partnerships forming across borders, this page is where you’ll discover the people, programs, and possibilities behind the movement.

Transforming Futures at the School of St Jude

A Blueprint for Global Impact

What began as a pilot program at the School of St Jude in Tanzania has become a powerful example of how targeted, values-led education can ignite deep, lasting change. Through leadership development, financial literacy, and personal empowerment, we’ve seen students evolve into confident changemakers. Influencing not only their own lives, but also their families, communities, and peers.

The impact is real. Young leaders are breaking generational cycles, stepping into purpose, and creating ripple effects that uplift entire communities. These programs are living proof of what’s possible. Now, we’re ready to take this work further. If you believe in bold, grassroots change, we invite you to stand with us and help bring this model to more communities around the world.

From Story to Legacy

Empowering Teen Voices to Create Global Change

When two students approached me with a vision that reached beyond their networks, skills, and what they believed was possible, I realised that they held more than a story, they held the spark of a movement. What began as a few pages became a vision to address a global issue affecting countless teenagers: the impact of external appearance on self-worth. Through mentorship, they not only wrote a book, but are now building a platform to lead generational change, challenge societal norms, and inspire others to rise.

  • These students were driven by a deep desire to make a difference but lacked the tools, and support to bring their vision to life. They felt limited by their environment, uncertain about their ability to be heard, and unaware of the scale of the problem, a silent epidemic affecting youth worldwide: the diminishing self-worth tied to physical appearance.

Their initial goal was to write a story, a personal account of struggle and truth that they saw around them. But they didn’t yet see the potential of their voice, or how their lived experience could inspire global change.

  • My role as a mentor was to show them that their story was not an end it was a beginning. I challenged them to think bigger, to step into their power not just as authors, but as advocates and changemakers.

Together, we expanded their story in order that it becomes a published book that tackled the societal pressure on youth appearance and identity. We developed a strategy to use the book as a platform to influence education, create awareness, and foster dialogue. More than writing, this was about movement-building giving teenagers everywhere permission to be seen, heard, and valued.

We built leadership into the process:

I invited them to step into mentorship themselves, to show others what’s possible, and to light the path for those who follow.

    • Book Completed: A powerful publication written by teens, addressing global issues of identity, self-worth, and societal pressure.

    • Movement Ignited: What began as a story became a movement advocating for youth voice, well-being, and truth.

    • Legacy in Motion: The project now aims to be integrated into educational curriculums, reaching students at a systemic level.

    • Leaders Created: The students evolved into mentors that influence fort impact, role models for others who dare to dream and take action.

    • Generational Impact: This initiative is planting the seeds for generational change, a ripple effect that challenges norms and redefines what young people believe is possible.

A Message from The School of St Jude

  • "I have seen people teach, and I have seen people lead mentorship programs, but I must admit, I have never seen anyone do it quite like Cathy Dimarchos. While for many, teaching and mentorship have become a business, I had the privilege this year of witnessing Cathy in action in Arusha, Tanzania, mentoring a large group of young Tanzanians in leadership.

What stood out most was her deep empathy, her ability to read the room and truly connect, and her remarkable skill in listening and giving others a voice. Cathy created a safe and open space where participants felt comfortable sharing their thoughts freely. Her presence was so strong and attentive that she never missed a detail.

I hope more people get the chance to experience her mentorship and the incredible gift she carries. Thank you, Cathy."
