Investing in others is truly about investing in ourselves.

Ten years ago, I embarked on a journey I believed was about supporting my daughter’s dream. At 16, she had a vision. One that led her to volunteer in orphanages across East Africa. Little did I know it would become the very path that unveiled me.

Like many families, we were committed to doing good. As a child, I was shown that generosity didn’t depend on what we had it was about who we chose to be. My husband and I raised our children with those same values: empathy, compassion, and respect. From a young age, they learned the gift of giving, whether it was food, clothes, or time locally, within community, and beyond.

So, it came as no surprise when my daughter announced she’d be heading to Tanzania after finishing high school. But, one month into her three-month volunteering experience, I joined her and everything changed.

That trip cracked something open inside me. It wasn’t a moment. It was a becoming.

That experience pulled me into a lifelong commitment, a ten-year (and counting) journey of grassroots leadership, impact-driven work, and personal expansion. It was a conscious awakening. I didn’t have a guide, I had no roadmap, I leaned on nothing but my inner determination to lead differently, despite all the noise from those who doubted the path.

I heard their fear: "Why go there?" "Why not focus on home?" "It’s a waste of time. The problem is too big."

But here’s the truth: I do focus on home. I’ve just expanded the definition of what “home” means. Because when we dare to dream BIG and choose to play BIGGER, we don't just make an impact we become the impact.

Curating the Path - Not Chasing the Prize

In my career, I choose my clients intentionally. They must align with a vision that’s bigger than profit. One that rises the tide for those long left behind. I’m not here to chase assets or awards. My currency is impact.

I’ve spent four decades in finance, I’ve built businesses since 1997, I hold a degree in counselling, and I now sit at an extraordinary and rare intersection where humanity, business, and social justice meet.

This intersection is my power. And I’m only just beginning.

Redefining Success

Success, for me, means enabling others to succeed on their own terms. It’s about creating a ripple that becomes a wave. I build roadmaps, challenge systems, and equip people to rise.

I’ve done this through:

All of it grounded in one core belief: People and Planet First.

And yes, we walk that talk. We are a Certified Social Enterprise focused on long-term equity, not just short-term attention.
